Pokemon Inspired Deck Bag





Hello, this is my first post on Blogger!  Today I'll be adding all the blogs from my old site.  Today's blog is about a Pokemon deck bag I designed for my little cousin's birthday a while back in October.  It's fairly simple, and anyone who can do a few simple stitches can make it!  I don't mind you reposting on your blog, just remember to give credit.  Thanks!




Materials:

H/5.00 mm hook

Less than a skein of white, black, and red worsted yarn

Yarn needle


Abbreviations:

hdc- half double crochet

sl st- slip stitch

sc- single crochet

ch- chain

st- stitch

rd- round


Note: Join is made with a sl st to first st of rd.


Instructions:


Bag:


With white, ch 13.

Rd 1: 2 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each st across. DO NOT TURN. Working on the back side of the chs, 2 hdc in back of same st, hdc to end, join.. (26 hdc)

Rd 2: Ch 2.(Working in the rd) 3 hdc in same st as ch 2, hdc in next 11 sts, 3 hdc in next st, hdc to end of rd, join. (30 hdc)

Rds 3-6: Ch 2, hdc around, join. (30 hdc)

Rd 7: Change color to black, ch 2, hdc around, join. (30 hdc)

Rd 8-15: Change color to red, ch 2, hdc around, join. (30 hdc)


At end of rd 15, fasten off.


Button:


With white, ch 3.

Rd 1: Working into 3rd ch from hook, hdc 8, join, (8 hdc)

Rd 2:Change color to black, ch 1, 2 sc in each hdc, join, fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing in. (16 sc)


Drawstring:


With 2 strands of red yarn held together, ch to length desired (must fit the circumference of bag).


Assembly & Finishing:


Button- Line up the button with rd 7.  Use the yarn needle to sew in.


Drawstring- Starting at the side of rd 13, weave the drawstring in every 2 sts.  At the end, make sure the strings are at an even length and tie them in a secure knot at the end of the chain.


Weave in all ends.
